These terms apply when you use acrefine.com. By using the site you accept them. We have kept them short because the site is simple: it has no accounts, no forms and nothing to buy.

2. What the site is for

The information on this site, including product data, drawings, calculations, installation guidance, videos and downloads, describes our products and services in general terms. It is not engineering advice for your project. Seismic restraint, vibration isolation, fire safety and structural measures depend on the building, the equipment and the code that applies, so any design must be checked for the specific case by a competent engineer.

When we work on your project, the scope of the work, our responsibility and our liability are set out in our proposal and the contract terms that go with it, not in these terms.

We work to keep the site accurate and current, but products, standards and codes change. Before you rely on a datasheet or an installation instruction, check that it is the latest version. If in doubt, ask us.

3. Using our content

The text, drawings, photographs, videos, datasheets, CAD and 3D files on this site belong to us or to those who have licensed them to us. You may view, download and print them to specify, buy, install or maintain our products, and share them within your project team for that purpose. Please do not alter them, remove our name from them, republish them or use them for your own commercial purposes without our written permission.

Our sample reports are illustrative: the project, the equipment and the figures in them are fictional. You may read, download and share them to assess our services, but do not reuse them as a template or rely on them for a real project.

Names and logos of other organisations shown on the site, such as clients, certification bodies and industry associations, belong to their owners.

4. What you must not do

Do not use the site in a way that breaks the law, try to gain unauthorised access to it or to the systems behind it, introduce malicious code, or put an unreasonable load on it, for example by automated mass downloading.

5. Links to other websites

The site links to websites we do not run, such as YouTube, LinkedIn and the pages of certification bodies and associations. We are not responsible for their content or for how they handle your information. Our online store, Fixing Smith, is a separate website with its own terms of sale.

6. Our liability

The site is provided free of charge and as it is. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that arises from using the site or relying on its content, including loss of profit, business or data, or for interruptions, errors or harmful code that reach you through the site despite our reasonable precautions. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.

8. Changes to these terms

We will update these terms when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and the version on the site when you use it is the one that applies.

9. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
